New Short Film “Seen”

I’m excited to officially announce that I am currently in post-production on a new animated short film “Seen.”

The film is a short dramedy about an animated man struggling with feelings of alienation in a live-action world.

The animation is being completed by Rachel Merrill (www.RachelMerrill.net), a multi Eisner-nominated artist. Her work has been featured in the New Yorker, Politico, “Tori Amos: Little Earthquakes",” “Comics for Choice",” and on the independent animated feature “Quantum Cowboys” directed by Geoff Marslett, featuring Lily Gladstone.

I wrote and directed the film, independently overseeing the small crew and four-day multi-location shoot. Production wrapped in mid-June and is now entering a lengthy post-production animation and compositing process. I got the chance to work with a talented DP with short films featured in film festivals world wide and a cast of actors seen in projects including “Succession,” “Poker Face,” “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” “Law and Order,” “Alley McBeal,” “The Disney Channel,” and many more.

This film is for anyone that has ever felt like they simply don’t fit in. Alienation is a feeling that affects all of us – a truly universal subject matter. The topic particularly resonates with marginalized groups, across sexuality, gender, race, physical disability, and neurodiverse individuals. It is our hope that this project helps open the viewer’s eyes and highlights the need for empathy and the common ground amongst all of us.

Our ultimate goal is to get the short film into festivals so the most people can experience it. You can learn more at www.SeenShortFilm.com.
